A Little About Me

Hello, I’m Roddy!
I’m a wedding filmmaker based in East Sussex, though I love to travel across the UK and abroad to capture weddings of all kinds.

You might be wondering why my business is called Everlasting. I film all my own weddings, often solo, so why not just call it Roddy McGillivray Films? Well try and pronounce McGillivray and you’ll see why!

I jumped into the world of wedding videography a few years ago and haven’t looked back. Working with real couples to tell their stories is a true joy, and I’m incredibly grateful to do this as my career.

When I’m not filming weddings, I also take on events around the country and work with a select number of commercial clients. Outside of filmmaking, I love to travel, cycle, rock climb, and capture life through film and photography.

A few fun facts: as a kid, my family once had 27 guinea pigs (don't ask), and I’ve lived in Czechia, Senegal and Mexico and so speak some French and Spanish.
How I Work
My philosophy is simple: your wedding is a celebration, not a film set.

I believe the best footage comes from letting the day unfold naturally, without stopping the flow to set up "fake" moments.

I’m not there to direct your day, boss your guests around, or turn your wedding into a photoshoot. Instead, I work candidly and quietly, often blending in so well that guests assume I’m just a friend with a fancy camera.

Your enjoyment is my number one priority. I want you to spend your time hugging your family, laughing with your friends, and actually eating the canapés, not standing in a line for hours of formal poses.
When we do sneak away for a few couple shots, I keep it short, relaxed, and genuinely fun. No awkward posing, just the two of you taking a breather while I capture the moment.

By taking this step back, I can capture the authentic atmosphere of your day. The tear during the vows, the roar of laughter during the speeches, and the chaotic joy on the dance floor. My goal is to hand you photos or a film that doesn't just look like your wedding day, but feels like it too.
