Old Michelmersh Farm - A Rustic Wedding Venue, Perfect for your Film!

Hi, I’m Roddy – I’m a wedding videographer and I get to film at some really lovely venues across the South East. One that always stands out for me is Michelmarsh Barns in Hampshire.

It’s quite out in the countryside, so as soon as you get there it feels calm and tucked away from everything, which makes it such a nice setting for a wedding. The barns themselves are beautiful – loads of character with the beams and brickwork, that proper rustic charm that just works so well on camera.

The fields around the barns are perfect too. At golden hour the light comes down across the countryside and it honestly makes for some of my favourite shots – I always try to take couples out then for a little walk because the footage looks amazing.

You don’t need a ton of decoration here either; a few natural flowers and simple touches and the place already feels warm and romantic.

What I love most is the relaxed vibe – it never feels too formal, which means guests can just enjoy themselves and I get to capture loads of genuine, natural moments on film. It’s the kind of venue that really brings out the fun, laughter and all the little emotions that make a wedding day special.
