Capturing Love: A Stunning Wedding at Searcys at the Gherkin

Updated: Oct 5

I recently had the privilege of filming a wedding at Searcys at the Gherkin in Central London. It truly was one of the most breathtaking celebrations I’ve captured. As a London wedding videographer, I get to film in many incredible places, but Searcys at the Gherkin has to be one of the best wedding venues in London. It’s perfect if you’re dreaming of a central, iconic, and stylish setting for your big day.

David & Alex’s wedding celebrations began the night before with a rehearsal dinner at Royal China, Canary Riverside. It was the perfect way to incorporate both Chinese and Jewish traditions, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food looked incredible, and of course, we took advantage of the chance to capture some beautiful, iconic London wedding footage along the Thames.

The Big Day Begins

The following day, their Searcys Gherkin wedding began with a civil ceremony in an intimate room overlooking the London skyline. Guests gathered for the main event, with the chuppah beautifully decorated and flowers filling the space. The ceremony itself was moving and heartfelt. The speeches afterwards were so emotional that - I cant lie - I even found myself tearing up behind the camera.

A Beautiful Reception

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks downstairs while the Searcys team transformed the top floor into a bright, airy dining hall. It was the perfect space for wedding videography in London, with plenty of natural light, laughter, and candid moments to capture.

Dancing the Night Away

Later in the evening, the room transformed into a vibrant dancefloor. It was complete with late-night burgers, cocktails, a buzzing photobooth, and the city lights reflecting across the glass dome. The atmosphere was incredible, and I loved filming every moment of the dancefloor magic.

A Unique Blend of Traditions

This wedding was such a joy to capture, not just because of the iconic venue, but also the way David & Alex blended Jewish and Chinese wedding traditions so seamlessly. It was a beautiful representation of their love story, and I felt honoured to be part of it.

If you’re planning a wedding at Searcys at the Gherkin or looking for a London wedding videographer to create a timeless wedding film that captures the emotion and energy of your day, I’d love to hear from you. Much love,

Roddy
